Congratulations to Ms Hynes' class who are today's winners of the Golden Boot.
There were 17 walkers in total beating the big boys and girls in Mr Barretts room and Ms Treacys room who had 15 and 16 respectively. Pictured are Junior and Senior infants receiving their plaque along with Ms Hynes. 1st class are gone swimming to Birr. 48 pupils walked to school today!!!
15 pupils travel by bus. 84% of us used green travel this morning. Well done everyone. Thank you to all parents for the positive feedback and support. Our rota has filled up but it is still not quite full! Parents can walk with the pupils, even if they are not on the rota. Everyone is welcome. Please comment if you can be included on the rota. Starting Monday 9th February we need at least two parents walking with each group. Below are the parents who have volunteered so far. Please comment on this post if you are available any morning or evening. If you volunteer, you don't have to be there every evening. We need to make sure theres two parents walking each evening for safety purposes. On Wednesday 4th February there was a meeting for parents. It was to explain how a walking bus works and to make sure there are enough volunteers to walk with the pupils for Drop and Hop.
Every day at 9am pupils will meet at Cloughbrack, River St and Bridge St and walk to school. Please comment below if you are available to accompany the pupils, include the days you are available, the route and whether it's to school or from school or both and of course, your name! |
